The Affiliate Marketing Focus Group of the German Association for the Digital Economy (Bundesverband Digitale Wirtschaft e.V., BVDW) has published a tracking compendium for the affiliate industry. Its 30 pages cover "performance measurement in affiliate marketing". easy Marketing Managing Director Markus Wigbels played a leading role in creating it.
"Data protection has cookies in its sights. By now, every publisher has long been feeling the impact on their affiliate revenue. To ensure site operators continue to receive a secure and fair share in the future, technical upgrades are needed now," the BVDW states in its press release. This makes it clear that the compendium is aimed not only at newcomers but at the entire industry. It explains in detail exactly how tracking works and what it takes to keep guaranteeing publishers fair remuneration.
The days of "simply adding a pixel" to a website are over, stresses Markus Wigbels, Managing Director of easy Marketing and head of the Tracking Lab of the BVDW's Affiliate Marketing Focus Group. "But if you follow a few basic rules, setting up affiliate performance tracking is still anything but difficult." The affiliate market offers platforms and technical support that make implementing partner programs easy (or at least easier). The tracking compendium explains these tools in detail.
