On Monday, May 4, 2026, our valued colleague and friend Marc Heß passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Marc was a helpful, funny person whom everyone liked. He always had a witty remark ready and brightened every get-together with his positive spirit. Whether there was a tracking problem or some affiliate network adapter was delivering the wrong numbers, Marc never rested until the problem was solved and the numbers were right (“The numbers have to be right!”).
First as a long-standing contact on the customer side and, from 2025, as part of the easy team, Marc contributed his knowledge with a rare and exceptional dedication. Being able to solve the problems of colleagues and customers meant a lot to him. With his strong nerd gene, he was – as he himself would have put it – “a perfect bloody fit” for our company. That makes the words he said at our team Christmas party stay with us all the more, when he told each and every one of us exuberantly: “You’ll never get rid of me.”
It was also typical of Marc that his last message to us was about his latest achievement: “U.S.C.H.I.” (“unified super computational (non)humanoid intelligence”), an AI he had developed himself in his spare time. He proudly told us that “U.S.C.H.I.” now knew easy Marketing, too, and would answer questions with a wink: “The numbers have to be right.”
The news of his death has shaken us all deeply. Marc leaves a great void in every area that can never be filled. We have lost not only an exceptional colleague, but above all a good friend.
Marc was only 46 years old.
